Taking a Second to Say I'm Alive

If you haven't seen me for awhile I promise there's good reason.

I love everything I'm doing, but I'm glad I have an end in sight. December 15th is the day my friends. My literary theory and criticism class will be over. Not that I'll be done with Speech and Debate, mentoring, grad school in general, teaching, or any thing else, really. But, I hope with my next class I won't be spending 20 to 30 hours a week doing homework and still never feeling like I've completely finished all I need to do for the class. I wish I were exaggerating, but I don't know how I'd be able to do one more thing at this point. This last week I barely got my paper done and only managed to read three of the six articles.

Somehow last semester seemed so much easier. I may have had to write a thirty-page paper, but I only had ten to fifteen hours of homework per week. I thought then that this was too good to be true. Now I know that it was. I can't imagine at this point how I would do it if I had a family. Right now the only break I get is about three or four hours the night after my class, and then I work towards the next one trying to get everything done. I'm not trying to complain. I'm learning a ton. I'm just tired. But happy. My seven-page paper is finished and turned in as of Wednesday. Now on to the four page one due next Wednesday.

I can relate.

I've got 2 huge projects due the end of November...and they are based on interventions I'm doing...and they are graded and determine whether or not I complete the entire program.

Good luck to BOTH of us. Although, I need to follow your lead and not be on my blog so much!

I have been a straight-up slacker this semester. I basically read through stuff right before it's due. I have a midterm next week...we'll see how that goes.
