Objects May Be Closer than They Appear
When I bought the truck I took it out to a dirt road and tested everything on my list—accelerator, gas mileage, breaks, windshield wipers, lights, and mirrors. After signing on the dotted line, I tracked the perfect storm driving the perfect storm-chaser. I quickly discovered that all was not perfect. The warning on the mirrors were correct. Objects were closer than they appeared--cows, tractors, tornadoes, death.
*An attempt at a specific type of flash fiction containing exactly 69 words (not including the title).
**I like that it's one small scene focusing on a character with first character narration, but to me it feels too obvious. I feel like I still like The Wallet the best. I'm not really sure how I'm going to beat that one.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.
