Bring on the holiday cheer!!!

In our family, there was a rule that there was no Christmas until after Thanksgiving. This meant no Christmas music, no Christmas decorations, and no Christmas movies. As I grew older and was out at college, this rule became hard to follow and so my senior year I finally gave in and broke it. (Not that I began the day after Halloween like Walmart does, just that I began a week or two early.) It was then that I discovered the logic behind this rule. It turns out that even the best things in the world can become old. Fast. (I am reminded for some reason of the antiquated phrase "surfeit of sweets.") By the time Christmas rolled around I was sooo done with all things holiday. Now, I strictly follow the holiday timeline. Fall decor can begin after Halloween, but there is nothing Christmas until Thanksgiving. I am now excited to celebrate all things Christmas.

With no further ado,

What about Frosty the Snowman? :)

Always a quality film. If there was a #11, it would have to be Frosty. Who can resist a singing snowman?

Today I brought out my Hermie and Santa decorations (both from Rudolph). And this year I was bad and snuck in a little John Denver Rocky Mountain Christmas before Thanksgiving...

Hurray for claymation! I was so excited when they came out with all of the new decorations of the old movies several years ago!

Also, I think it's okay to sneak peak at Christmas. The year that I tried to cheat out on the holiday timeline I was working at IS and so had 4 hours of Christmas music everyday. (That could have had something to do with my Christmas burnout.)
