Paper Dolls

Today I taught my kids to make paper dolls. Something I never thought I'd do in 7th grade, but we did character sketches today on 5 characters from their book. On one side they drew the character as described in the book; on the other side they listed character traits. It actually seemed to work out okay. They enjoyed it much better than regular graphic organizers and apparently my class even made the gossip scene. Not too shabby. Not a huge innovation, but at least it's something different.

Most kids only got one character done after they had cut out their dolls, so they'll have to finish tomorrow with the other four. I'm not going to be there tomorrow, so here's hoping it goes well.
