In the wonderful land of Missouri, every year around the start of school there occurs a weekend where certain items are not taxed--school supplies, clothes, etc.
It's great for low-income households. It's hard for other shoppers like me, who just want to buy one thing like one pair of shoes or salsa for dinner and have to wait in really long lines. Target was smart, wonderful, amazing, and kept as many checkers on the floor as they could track down. Walmart on the other hand . . .
