The Wallet

He was obviously a tourist. His eyes constantly looked sky-ward seemingly astounded by the tall buildings and his clothes were not the kind that a city-dweller would choose. White tennis shoes? Most certainly not. A perfect target. Jess saw him coming a mile away, so he was ready for the bump-grab-chase that followed. The tourist was tall with long running strides, but Jess was small and quick and better at navigating the thick crowds of people that cluttered the sidewalks. At last Jess found an alley to duck into. Safe. He waited several moments to catch his breath before reaching into his jacket pocket to examine his take.

The tall man kept running a few more paces, then slowed and turned, walking back the way he came, chuckling. Sometimes it was just too easy to get rid of the evidence. All he had to do was act like a fish out of water and some sucker would pick up on it. Anything incriminating would be safely out of his hands and with some hoodlum. A perfect target.
